Use this tab to do any of the following:
  • Rebuild the PRP request listing in the CS Connect - PRP tab.
  • View a list of CS Connect activity.
  • Clear update files that were downloaded via CS Connect.
  • Populate Practice CS, Toolbox CS, Accounting CS, Workpapers CS, and/or FileCabinet CS with a list of UltraTax CS clients (if licensed).
  • Create blank client folders in FileCabinet CS for each of your UltraTax CS clients.
  • Correct the printing of bitmap graphics in UltraTax CS client documents.
  • View file details such as the name, date, version (if applicable), and time of installed UltraTax CS files.
To open this tab, choose Help then Repair, and select the Misc tab.

Depending on your security configuration, you might be required to enter the master password and select OK before you can open the Repair dialog.

Fields & buttons

Populate CS Applications group box

FileCabinet CS
Select this button to create a blank drawer in FileCabinet CS for each of your UltraTax CS clients.

This button is available only if you have FileCabinet CS installed.
Create an UltraTax CS folder in FileCabinet CS clients
Mark this checkbox to create an UltraTax CS folder in FileCabinet CS for each of your UltraTax CS clients.

This checkbox is available only if you have FileCabinet CS installed.
FileCabinet CS [data location]
Use this drop-down list to specify the FileCabinet CS data location where you want to create the UltraTax CS clients' folders.

This field is available only if you have FileCabinet CS installed.
CS Practice Products
Mark this option to send a list of all UltraTax CS clients to Practice CS. The list includes the UltraTax CS client ID, SSN/EIN, name, and address for each client. Practice CS can then import this information and update the client database.

CS Accounting Products
Mark this option to send a list of all UltraTax CS clients to Accounting CS or Workpapers CS. The list includes the UltraTax CS client ID, SSN/EIN, name, and address for each client. The accounting application can then import this information and update the client database.

This option is available only if you have Accounting CS or Workpapers CS installed.
ToolBox CS
Mark this option to export a list of all UltraTax CS clients to ToolBox CS. After exporting the list file, you must retrieve the information using ToolBox CS.
Populate button
Select this button to populate the selected application information from UltraTax CS.

CS Connect group box

Update PRP Request Listing button
Select this button to rebuild the PRP request listing in the CS Connect - PRP tab.
View Connection Log button
Select this button to view a report listing CS Connect activity, including the date and time of each item in the list.
Clear Updates Directory button
Select this button to delete all update files downloaded via CS Connect.

Select the Clear Updates Directory button only at the direction of a CS Support representative.

Other fields and buttons

View File Details button
Select this button to view a list of all installed UltraTax CS files. You can use this dialog to view the version of the file, the current version of UltraTax CS, the file size, and the date and time the file was last modified.
Minimize printer driver interaction
Mark this checkbox if each page of a printed tax return, organizer, or other UltraTax CS document is being offset in a different direction during printing. This issue is caused by the interaction of certain printer drivers with certain operating systems. Marking this checkbox will resolve this issue. In general, you will not need to mark this checkbox.
Render printed images in client documents without hardware acceleration
Mark this checkbox if you experience errors while printing custom client documents containing bitmap graphics. Generally this setting is only necessary if troubleshooting printing problems.&
Use alternative method of clearing print-if's in client documents
Mark this checkbox if you experience issues while printing custom client documents containing print-if’s. Generally this setting is only necessary if troubleshooting printing problems.
Use Microsoft's ClearType font technology to render text
This checkbox is marked by default. However, if you experience issues with the rendering of printed text, you can clear this checkbox to help in troubleshooting.
