Documents appear offset in print or preview
Scenario
When you print or preview statements, transmittal letters, filing instructions, or other client documents, the page appears offset and the alignment is incorrect. This can result in larger right and bottom margins.
Cause
This display issue is a result of the print driver you selected under
File
, then Print Returns
. Solution
Offset
When you select a PDF print driver (such as Adobe Acrobat Distiller, PDF995, PDFCreator, or CutePDF) as the printer, statements and client documents will display the offset in a preview. If you select a physical printer under
File
, then Print Returns
, then the Printer
button, this will change the alignment and cause affected forms to preview or print without offset margins.Margins
Margins typically don't display aligned in a preview when you've selected a PDF print driver. However, it's possible to adjust the margins when you're using a PDF print driver. Control margins by selecting
File
, Print Returns
, then the Printer
button. If you set both the vertical and horizontal adjustment to 1/4", this causes the pages to print with the correct margins in most cases, though these settings can vary from 1 PDF print driver to another.
