Client documents didn't proforma properly
The following are reasons why some client documents didn't proforma or didn't proforma as expected.
- Changes made by taxing agencies require a new set of instructions.Client documents released with the current-year application contain all information relevant to the current-year tax returns. However, client documents can change significantly when taxing authorities update filing and electronic filing requirements. For the most accurate client documents, consider editing the client documents released with the current application instead of using the proforma option to proforma the client documents from the prior year (which replaces all current-year client documents). During years with major changes, we may turn off the proforma of client documents altogether.
- Document format has changed from the prior year. For example, if within2024UltraTax CS, the document format is set toCombine Transmittal Letter and Filing Instructions in letter(underSetup,1040 Individual, thenFederal), andSeparate pages for Transmittal Letteris marked in2025UltraTax CS, the documents won't have edited changes from the other format.
- File locations are different than the prior year.Review the UltraTax CS system data file location underSetup,User Preferences, thenFile Location. If the file location is incorrect, you can modify it underSetup,System Configuration, then theData Locationstab.
