Determine why the converted client isn't available to proforma
Converted clients may be missing from the
Proforma
window for several reasons. To determine why your particular client is missing from the list, check the following.Check the client data
If the client is marked as final, deceased, suppressed from proforma, or you don't have access to your prior tax software, restore the client in the equivalent year of UltraTax CS and unmark the option with the client.
- Refer to your conversion kit for instructions on how to restore the converted data into the prior year of UltraTax CS.
- Refer to Clients missing during Proforma for steps in the prior year of UltraTax CS to verify the proforma isn't suppressed.
To get a list of suppressed clients, do the following:
- Restore the client data in the prior year of UltraTax CS (refer to your conversion kit).
- SelectUtilities, thenData Mining.
- On Step 1, select the entity type in theClient databasefield and selectContinue. This will need to be done on a per-entity basis.
- On Step 2, select theCS Client Contact Informationreport.
- SelectAdd/Modify Searches, then selectAddon theAdd/Modify Searchesscreen.
- Enter a Search name and select the Input screen field.
- SelectAdd/Modify, then selectAdd.
- In theGeneralfolder, selectSuppress next year's proforma. For 1040 clients, this field is on theContacttab.
- SelectEnter, thenDone.
- Select the search you just created, and selectDonetwice.
- SelectContinue to (Step 3).

To create searches for clients that are suppressed due to having deceased taxpayers and being final returns, repeat the previous steps and select the
Final Return
box and/or the Date of death
field on the Entity
tab in the General
folder.
