Address clients missing during proforma

Data entry in prior year client

In your prior year client, completing any one of the following fields will prevent the proforma.
Suppress next year's proforma
checkbox on the following screens in the
General
folder.
1040:
Contact
screen.
1065:
CltOptns
screen.
990:
OthInfo
screen.
Other entities: 1st screen in the
General
folder.
Final return
field for 1120, 1065, and 1041 clients.
Date of death
field for 1040 and 709 clients.
If any of the previous fields were complete, delete the data entry.
Print preview the return and reproforma the client.
If this is all correct, check the data locations.

Data locations

Open the prior-year version of UltraTax CS.
Go to
Setup
, then
System Configuration
.
In the
Data Locations
tab, check the UltraTax CS data location.
In the current year of UltraTax CS, go to
Utilities
, then
Proforma
.
Check if the location in the
Data to proforma
box matches the prior-year data location. If not, select
Change UltraTax CS Location
and specify the correct location.
In the Focus box, do the following:
Select the entity box.
In the
Preparer/reviewer/staff
field, select
All Preparers
.
In the
Fiscal year end
field, select
All Months
.
Unmark the
Exclude proforma'd clients
checkbox.
If a 706 client, unmark the
Exclude 706 clients
checkbox.

Additional troubleshooting

Check for a client lock in the prior-year application by going to
Help
,
Repair
, then
File Locks
.
Open the client in the prior-year UltraTax CS application, back up the client to your Desktop, and proforma the client from your Desktop.
If there are other missing clients with the same entity:
Go to
File
, then
New Client
.
If you get an error or the entity type is grayed out, that means the entity isn't properly installed.
