Resolve fixed asset data not available for proforma
You might get the following error message after you proforma a client's return from the prior-year version of UltraTax CS.
Not completed - Fixed asset data unavailable for proforma
This error can be the result of a client lock or the asset location being not available.
Do the following steps to resolve the error. After each step, try to proforma the client again.
- Make sure that the client is closed in Fixed Assets CS and prior years of UltraTax CS.
- Delete any client locks for the client.noteCheck that no one else has the client open before deleting the locks.
- Verify the data locations.
- SelectUtilities, thenProforma.
- SelectChange UltraTax CS, thenLocation.
- Verify that the location for the Fixed Assets CS client data is pointing to the correct location.
- If it's not, select the Fixed Assets CS client data and selectModify.
- Select the correct location.
- Open the prior-year return and open anyAssettab.
- If you don't use Fixed Assets CS and—
- The client doesn't have any assets:
- Go toX:\wincsi\deprdata, where X is the drive your depreciation data is located.
- Delete the folder with the Client ID.
- The client has assets:
- Go toX:\wincsi\deprdata\$depcid, where X is the drive your depreciation data is located.
- Delete the file that includes the Client ID.
noteFor Virtual Office or SaaS users, you'll need to contact Support at 800.968.0600. - If your firm does have the Fixed Assets CS application:
- Open Fixed Assets CS.
- Open the client.
- SelectFile, then selectPeriod to Process.
- Select the most recent prior year, then selectMove to Selected Period.
- SelectFile, then selectPeriod to Processagain.
- SelectClose to Next Year.
- SelectMerge.
- Proforma the client again.
- Proforma from a backup:
- Back up the prior-year client.
- In the current year of UltraTax CS, selectUtilities, thenProforma.
- SelectBackupto locate your backup location.
- In the prior year of UltraTax, copy the client and try to proforma the new client.
