Specify the location of last year's data before you proforma
Before you proforma client data or other information from the prior-year UltraTax CS application, verify your prior-year data location in the
Data to proforma
section on the Proforma
window. If the location displayed isn't correct, you'll need to select or specify the drive and path.Do the following to specify the drive and path:
- In theProformawindow, select eitherChange UltraTax CS LocationorChange Backup Locationif the data to be proforma'd is on an external storage device.
- Depending on which option you selected in step 1, do one of the following:
- If you selectedChange UltraTax CS Location: In theFile Locationswindow, select the2023UltraTax CSoption, and proceed to step 3.
- If you selectedChange Backup Location: In theModify Locationwindow, go to the drive and path and selectOK. TheModify Locationwindow closes and theProformawindow becomes active. The drive and path that appears in theData to proformasection should now be correct.
- In the list, selectUltraTax CS client datato specify the drive and path for the client data.
- SelectModify Locationto open theModify Locationwindow.
- Go to the correct drive and path, then selectOK.
- Repeat steps 3 through 5 for theFixed Assets CS data, if required.
- SelectOKto close theFile Locationswindow and return to theProformawindow. The drive and path that appear in theData to proformasection should now be correct.
