Assemble an eSignature document for FinCEN Form 114a separately from the return

Do the following to assemble an eSignature document for FinCEN Form 114a separate from your client's return:
  1. Turn on the
    eSignature
    option.
  2. Go to your return and select
    File
    , then
    Print Returns
    .
  3. Mark the
    Client copy
    checkbox.
  4. Mark the
    Electronic delivery
    checkbox, then select
    eSignature
    .
    note
    If you don't want to print the return on paper, clear the
    Paper
    checkbox.
  5. Select
    Options
    .
  6. On the
    Selected Returns
    tab in the
    Print Options
    window, clear all checkboxes except the
    FinCEN Form 114
    checkbox.
  7. Select
    OK
    .
  8. Select
    Assemble
    .
note
  • The eSignature process requires a valid email address. During eSignature assembly, the application will notify you if a client doesn't have an email address entered.
  • 1040 returns:
    If the return has a filing status of married filing joint, a unique email address is required for both the taxpayer and the spouse. To enter an email address for the spouse, select
    Sp
    from the dropdown in the
    Email Address
    column, then enter the spouse's email address.
