Understand the All Clients tab

Learn what each column means in the All Clients tab to track your clients through the tax preparation workflow.
You can upload documents to create binders and integrate with document management tools to move clients efficiently into the preparation stage.

Column descriptions

Actions
Use this column to process clients quickly without leaving the
All Clients
tab. The available options change based on where your client is in the workflow:
  • Upload
    - Upload documents
  • Verification
    - Open Review Wizard, upload documents
  • Binder
    - Upload documents
  • Issues
    - Hide, retry
  • Download Files
    - Download PDF, upload documents
Client ID, Client Name, Email Address
These columns show the identifying information you entered in the client's UltraTax CS return. Use them to find and manage each client quickly.
Binder ID
After you create a binder, this column displays its unique identifier. You can use this ID to reference both initial and subsequent binders for a client.
Subsequent binders
When clients upload additional documents after you submit the initial binder, the system automatically creates a subsequent binder. Each subsequent binder gets its own unique Binder ID and appears as a separate entry, making it easy to track all documents. This keeps additional source documents organized without disrupting your original binder.

If a subsequent binder includes leadsheets, it appears in the Tax Automation window alongside the initial binder.

Process Stage and description

This column shows where your client is in the workflow:
  • Upload
    - Clients can upload documents to create a binder and import information from source tax documents into their return.
  • Binder
    - The system is creating the binder.
  • Verify
    - Documents are ready for you to review and verify.
  • Issues
    - A problem occurred with binder creation, document uploads, or required information is missing (check the
    Issues
    tab for details).
  • Download
    - You can download binder documents after completing verification.
  • Waiting for Document
    - The client needs to upload the required documents.
  • Ready to Verify
    - An uploaded document is ready for you to verify in the Review Wizard (access it from the
    All Clients
    tab or the
    Actions
    column).
  • Processing
    - The system created a binder and is currently processing an uploaded document.
  • Download Available
    - You can download verified binder documents from the
    All Clients
    tab or the
    Downloads
    tab.
Issues
This column displays
Yes
if a problem occurred during binder creation or
No
if the process was completed successfully.
Preparer, Reviewer, Staff
These columns display the preparer, reviewer, or staff member you assigned to the client in UltraTax CS (
File
Client Properties
).
Last Updated
This column shows when you last updated the client, displayed in 24-hour increments.
Organizer delivery
This column displays the organizer delivery option you selected for the client. To view or change this, select
Setup
, then
Client Communications
.
