Set up Tax Automation

This topic tells you the prerequisites for setting up Tax Automation, including the requirement to integrate Ultra Tax CS 2025 with SurePrep and download updated licenses before beginning the setup process.
To use Tax Automation, you'll need to connect it with UltraTax CS 2025 and SurePrep.
Before you get started, make sure you've downloaded the updated licenses for UltraTax CS.
Firm mapping is one‑to‑one, which means a single UltraTax CS firm can be mapped to only one corresponding SurePrep domain at a time. Multiple mappings are not supported.
  1. In UltraTax CS, select
    Setup
    , then
    System Configuration
    .
  2. Select the
    SurePrep & SafeSend Integrations
     tab, then
    Select Firm ID
    .
  3. On the SurePrep Firm ID modal, select the SurePrep firm to connect, then
    Test
     to verify the connection.
  4. Once your connection is verified, select
    OK
    .
  5. Make sure the connection status shows
    Connected
    , the SurePrep Firm ID is correct, and the
    Enable SurePrep Integration
     checkbox is marked.
  6. Select
    OK
     to save your changes and close the screen.
    You can now open Tax Automation on the toolbar.
