Configure Tax Automation settings

Customize your Tax Automation preferences to match your firm's workflow and compliance requirements.
You can adjust each option according to your firm’s workflow and compliance needs. These defaults help streamline processes and maintain consistency in document management and client service.
Welcome page
Select
Show at launch
to display the welcome page when you open the application. The welcome page provides an overview and instructions to help you get started.

This setting is staff-specific and will only affect the signed-in staff member.
Upload settings
Service types
Select the service type that fits your workflow:
  • 1040SCAN Pro:
    Uses OCR to extract data from source documents. Verify accuracy in-house before export.
  • 1040SCANverify Onshore:
    Sends documents to SurePrep Onshore for data extraction and verification before export.
  • 1040SCANverify Offshore:
    SurePrep Offshore processes and verifies documents, with an option for in-house review before export.

The options you see are based on your firm's SurePrep license. These options are set as defaults at the firm level, but you can edit them for individual clients in the

screen.
Leadsheets
Turn this on to use leadsheets for all document uploads. This standardizes your documentation process across all clients.
