Cause
The Windows permissions for the user running the installation aren't sufficient, or a file is currently in use.
Solution 1: Make sure the files aren't in use
Make sure the
X:\WinCSI\UTYY
folder isn't in use by anyone on the network. You can check open files on the server or restart to close all open files.Solution 2: Make sure the path is correct and permissions are set
- Determine what location is missing permissions. It will be listed in the error log next to the error. It might look something like X:\WinCSI or \\Servername\WinCSI.
- Continue to the next step if this is the path you want to install to. If not, start the installation again and select the correct path.
- Set permissions for the user running the installation. They should have full control over the location mentioned in the error log. Consult your firm's IT professional for help.
Solution 3: Update the registry
If the wrong path still displays in the error log after changing the path during the installation, follow these steps to update registry keys.
- Determine which registry keys to update by searching for lines like this in the log:Property(S): _TOOLS_BASETARGETDIR = V:\WinCSI.
- Find theTARGETDIRlines with the incorrect path and note which product they're for. TheTARGETDIRlines match with products as follows:
- TOOLS_BASETARGETDIR: CSI Tools
- FC_TARGETDIR: FileCabinet CS
- FA_TARGETDIR: Fixed Assets CS
- PL_TARGETDIR: Planner CS
- UT_TARGETDIR: UltraTax CS
- Find the registry key for the product and ask your IT professional to make the necessary changes.
