Notify users when new File Exchange files are available

NetFirm CS administrators can set up notification messages to alert specific NetClient CS or NetStaff CS users when files are uploaded to File Exchange.
  1. In the
    Admin
     tab of the navigation pane, select
    Notification
     in the Utilities section.
  2. In the Notification list, select
    File Exchange
    .
  3. Select
    NetStaff CS
     in the
    Display Users:
     field, do one of the following:
    • Select
      All Users
       in the
      Notifications
       field to send notification messages to all users when a file is uploaded to a File Exchange folder that they can access.
      • If a NetFirm CS administrator previously set up a NetStaff CS user to receive notifications for File Exchange uploads but the NetStaff CS user turned those notifications off from within their portal, you can reset the portal to once again receive notifications for uploads. To do this, you must first turn off notifications for the user by selecting
        Selected
         under Notifications, unmarking the checkbox for the user, and selecting
        Enter
        . Then, re-enable File Exchange notifications for the user and select
        Enter
         again.
    • Select
      Selected
       in the
      Notifications
       field to send notifications to specific NetStaff CS users, and select the checkboxes for the users who should receive the notification.
      • If you select
        All Users
        , new users will receive notifications by default. An administrator doesn’t have to return to this screen to select the checkboxes for new users.
      • Enter any part of a user’s name or login into
        Find
         to locate a user.
      • In the
        Filter Options
         field, select
        Unselected
         to display only the users who are not set up to receive notifications about File Exchange uploads. Select
        Selected
         to display only the users who are set up to receive notification messages.
  4. If you don’t want NetStaff CS users to receive notifications when their colleagues upload files to File Exchange, select the
    Send notification for NetClient CS user uploads only
     checkbox.
  5. Select
    NetClient CS
     in the
    Display Users:
     field.
  6. Select the checkbox for each NetClient CS user NetFirm CS should send a notification message to.
  7. Select
    Enter
    .
    note
    Optional: You can modify the template for the notification message or specify the method by which users will receive the notification.
    • Notifications won’t be sent for uploads to private folders.
