Create a NetClient CS demonstration portal

If you're trying to add a regular NetClient CS portal that isn't for demonstration purposes, follow the steps to add client portals.
You can create 1 free client portal for demonstration purposes. You can use this portal to demonstrate NetClient CS to your clients and when training staff members on how NetClient CS users interact with their portals.
We won't bill your firm for any modules that you enable for the NetClient CS demonstration portal. However, we will bill your firm for Employee Self-Service or Accounting CS Client Access if you link portals for Employee Self-Service or Client Access to the demonstration portal.
Follow these steps to create a NetClient CS demonstration portal:
  1. In the
    Admin
tab of the navigation pane, select
    Users
    in the NetClient CS section.
    note
    If
    Users
doesn't show, you don't have access to this area.
  2. Select
    Add
at the end of the Users list.
  3. Select
    Single user – manual notification
    .
  4. Enter a sign in, first name, last name, email address, and password.
  5. Mark the
    Demo User
    checkbox.
    note
    • You can create only 1 demo user and you'll need to mark the
      Demo User
checkbox when you create the user. You can't mark this checkbox for an existing user.
    • If a NetClient CS user has already been designated as the demo user, you can't mark the
      Demo User
      checkbox and the
      Information
icon shows next to the checkbox. Hover your cursor over the icon to display a tooltip that identifies the current demo user.
  6. Select
    Enter
    .
  7. Give the demonstration portal access to NetClient CS modules.
    note
    • In the Users list, an indicator shows next to the sign in for the demonstration portal.
    • You can't clear the
      Demo User
checkbox for this portal, but you can edit the account information.
    • If you turn on Account Aggregation in the demonstration portal, the Account Aggregation screen includes sample information.
    • NetFirm CS doesn't automatically delete File Exchange files associated with the NetClient CS demonstration portal. (The File Exchange files for any portal other than the demonstration portal are deleted automatically after 14 days, unless the files are put in permanent folders.)
    • NetClient CS demonstration portals won't trigger File Exchange notifications.
    • Because this portal is used only for demonstration purposes, we recommend that you don't turn on multi-factor authentication.
