Use Microsoft 365 in Virtual Office CS or SaaS

Initial Office activation

Select
Sign in
.
On the
Activate Office
prompt, enter your M365 credentials.
Complete any required multi-factor authentication steps that your M365 tenant requires.

Initial Outlook setup

In the
Microsoft Outlook
startup window, replace the prepopulated email address with your Exchange email address, then select
Connect
.
If you get the
Advanced setup
screen:
Select
Exchange
if you're still on Hosted Exchange and haven't completed the data migration.
Select
Microsoft 365
if your data is in M365 already. Complete any multi-factor authentication steps your M365 tenant requires.
After the account is added successfully, select
Done
.

You can ignore the
"@vo.thomsonreuters.com"
email address shown under
Add another email address
. This address is generated and isn't associated with an actual mailbox.
Outlook will finish loading your Exchange mailbox. You can begin using your email normally.

Per-session M365 authentication

For every new VO AVD session, open
Outlook
as your 1st Microsoft Office application.
When prompted, enter your M365 password in the Microsoft
Enter password
screen.
Complete any multi-factor authentication steps your M365 tenant requires.
If there's a
Sign in
option on the Outlook toolbar, select any folder in your Outlook folder list. The
Sign in
field will change to your profile picture (or your initials if you haven't uploaded a profile picture yet).
When you open another MS Office application:
If your profile doesn’t show, select
File
Account
.
Select
Switch account
and select the account that corresponds to your M365 account.
You have to select your M365 account to access SharePoint or OneDrive.

Per-session M365 authentication for firms that are still on Hosted Exchange

For every new VO AVD session, open
Outlook
as your 1st Microsoft Office application.
Select
File
Office Account
.
Verify you're signed in to your M365 account. If you're not, do the following:
Select
Switch account
Add account
.
Enter your M365 email address and password.

The
Sign in
option on the Outlook toolbar will still show even after you sign in to your M365 account.
When you open another Microsoft Office application, make sure you're signed in with your M365 account.
