Run a Deep Research query

Use the following steps to run a query, configure options, submit, and interact with the report.
  1. Open the Deep Research homepage and select the Deep Research tab.
  2. Choose a report option:
    • Agent time 3 minutes: brief overview for simpler issues
    • Agent time 7 minutes: deeper analysis with extra verification
    • Agent time 10 minutes: includes arguments and authority on both sides and related issues
  3. Enter your question (1–2 clear sentences; include key terms, facts, citations, and jurisdiction).
  4. Select a jurisdiction.
  5. Optional: You can turn on
    Email me when your report is ready
    .
  6. Select
    Send
    .
  7. Deep Research begins to process your query. You can view research steps, status, and insights as the agent works.
  8. Review the Research Report:
    • Use the table of contents to find the research steps listed at the bottom of TOC
    • For 10-minute reports, you are able to view these additional sections: Arguments and Rebuttals, Cases on Both Sides, Recent Developments, Related Issues
  9. Use inline citations:
    • Hover numbered brackets to preview excerpts.
    • Select a citation to open a box with a link to the full document, an AI full document summary, and the supporting snippet.
  10. Use the
    Sources
     tab to see all citations with links, AI Document Summary, and Supporting section.
  11. Download the report using the download icon.
  12. Ask follow-up questions in the text field. Responses include cited authorities.
    note
    • Write effective queries: no complex prompts needed; be clear and specific.
    • Use Deep Research to accelerate, not replace, traditional research.
