Error: DataSource.xml was not found

Scenario

When Accounting CS won't open, you might see this error:
Error message
Accounting CS will not close because DataSource.xml was not found. Please verify that C:\WinCSI\AccountingCS\...\Accounting CS Data/DataSource.xml exists and is accessible.

Cause

If DataSource.xml is in a different place, this process will help you set the correct location. You can also fix this by changing the AppDataPath setting in NetworkInstallation.ini.

Solution

  1. Go to the computer where you installed Accounting CS.
  2. Open the Control Panel and select
    Add/Remove Programs
    .
  3. Find
    Accounting CS Shared Files
     and uninstall it.
  4. Run the Accounting CS installer again.
  5. Follow steps 1 and 2 in the Installation Toolkit guide.
  6. Select
    Exit
     when you're done.
  7. Try opening Accounting CS again.
