Network and standalone workstations installation

Before beginning the install, your firm licensee or delegate needs to complete the administrative setup steps in Getting started with your new CS Professional Suite application.

Workpapers CS
The installation process for
Workpapers CS
 differs from that for other CS Professional Suite applications you may have used. We recommend that the installation be completed by your firm’s network administrator or consultant. If your firm chooses to install Accounting CS in a terminal server environment, a
qualified and certified terminal server professional
needs to complete the installation.
For general information to provide to your firm’s terminal server technician, refer to Terminal server installation guidelines for CS Professional Suite applications and Terminal server guidelines for CS Professional Suite applications.

If your firm uses Accounting CS in the Virtual Office CS® environment or in the Software as a Service (SaaS) environment, the installation and CS Connect sections of this guide aren't applicable because we complete the initial installation and updates for you.
If you own the standalone of Workpapers CS, Download the Workpapers CS installer instead to your server, and installation.
  1. Go to the folder you saved the installer to.
  2. Run
    workpaperscsdownload.exe
    .
  3. Pay attention to the
    Destination Folder
    . If you need to restart the installation or restart the server.
  4. Select
    Extract
    .
  5. Select
    Yes
     if you're warned about replacing existing files.
The
Workpapers CS
 setup opens after you run the downloader. If you need to open the installation manually or restart the installation, go to the folder from the
Destination Folder
 step and select
Setup.exe
.
  1. Select
    Install Workpapers CS
  2. Answer the question during setup, then review the license agreement.
  3. If you agree to the license agreement, mark the checkbox to accept the terms. Select
    Next
     to continue.
  4. You may be asked to restart your computer. You can ignore the prompt, but you should restart your computer if it comes back.
  5. Select
    Next
     to select the location of your
    Workpapers CS
     shared files.
  6. If your computer doesn't already have an instance of SQL server, you'll need to install a new instance of Microsoft SQL Server Express and name your instance.
    1. You can use another version of SQL Express or SQL Server. Work with your IT professional to set up the details.
  7. Select
    Install Workpapers CS
    .
    We recommend installing Workpapers CS on the server to help with troubleshooting.
  8. Select
    Next
     to install components on your computer.
  9. Mark the
    Run Workpapers CS
     checkbox to open the application and select
    Finish
    .
Install the application on other network computers after you're finished with the server.
You'll need to run the Desktop setup from each computer that will run Workpapers CS after you finish with the server installation.
