Link an existing engagement to PPC's SMART Practice Aids
If you're licensed and have installed PPC's SMART Practice Aids with the Fieldwork module, you can:
- Link engagement binders inWorkpapers CSto SMART Practice Aid's engagements, so you can transfer, open, and edit SMART documents within the Workpapers Dashboard.
- Roll forward SMART workpapers. Create placeholder workpapers during the rollforward process, then replace by SMART workpapers when the rollforward process is complete.
- Set up a direct link to an existing engagement from the application for dynamic two-way integration. Alternatively, without the Fieldwork module installed, you can add PPC Practice Aids as external workpapers.
Take the following steps to link an existing engagement to PPC's SMART Practice Aids.
- SelectSetup,Engagement Binders, then selectProperties.
- Select the engagement to link with PPC's SMART Practice Aids, select thePPCtab, thenEdit.
- SelectAdd Link
to open PPC's SMART Practice Aids. - ChooseSelect an existing engagement, then selectOK.
- Select the following items in the Open Engagement window.
- Database.
- Client name.
- Engagement name.
- Allow multi-user for this engagement or Do not allow multi-user for this engagement.
- SelectOpen.
- SelectTools, then selectCreate SMART Docs.
- Select the SMART Practice Aids that you want to upload to the engagement binder, then selectCreate.
- Monitor the progress of workpaper generation in the Generation Status window. You can check for errors during the generation process in theError Reporttab.
- After the workpaper generation is complete, close the Generation Status window and the Upload status window.
- Close or minimize the PPC's SMART Practice Aids application.
- Verify that the SMART Practice Aids that you uploaded have been inserted into the top level of the engagement binder that you selected inWorkpapers CS.
- Double-click a SMART Practice Aid in the Engagement Binders Tree toolbar to open it in PPC's SMART Practice Aids.
