Enabling firm security groups requires users to enter a password to open the application database. Staff administrators can also specify security privileges for staff groups to access certain areas of the application. You have to turn on security groups before creating them. Follow these steps to turn on security groups.

If you turn on firm security, you can't turn it off. It's a one-way process that can't be undone.
Workpapers needs firm security turned on. You may get an error message if you try to use Workpapers without security turned on.
Select
Setup
,
Firm Information
, and then
Firm
.
Select the
Preferences
tab.
Mark the
Enable firm security
checkbox.
Close and reopen the application.
Enter your
Staff ID
, but don't enter a password.
Select
OK
.
Enter a new password and select
OK
.

All staff belong to the Administrators group when you turn security on. Add additional groups to customize permissions for your staff members.
