screen to set up or edit journals. You can use journals to record related types of transactions. For example, you can set up a sales journal, purchases journal, cash receipts journal, cash disbursements journal, and so forth.

You must have at least one journal at all times. You can't rename or delete the
General
journal. If you try to delete a journal that contains transactions and you have set up more than one journal, the application will display a prompt giving you the option to transfer the transactions to another journal or to delete the journal and all associated transactions.
Add a journal in the
Journals
screen
Select
Setup
then
Journals
.
In the
Journals
screen, verify that you've selected the correct client, then select
Add
.
Enter a journal name (up to 30 alphanumeric characters) in the
Description
field.
If applicable, enter the appropriate code (up to 5 alphanumeric characters) in the
Report code
field.
Select
Enter
to save the journal.

Add a journal on the fly
Select
Actions
then
Enter Transactions
.
In the
Journal
field, enter a unique journal name, and then press the TAB key to move to the next field.
When prompted to add a new journal, select
Yes
.
In the
Journal
screen, enter the appropriate report code (if applicable) for the new journal then select
Enter
.
If necessary, you can continue to add journals. When you've finished entering journal information, select
