Celebrating my Hispanic Heritage with the Latino Employee Network

As a part of our #BeYouAtTR campaign, we share the stories of our teammates #WorkingAtTR globally.

Meet Camila, Senior Attorney Writer, #WorkingAtTR in Minneapolis

"I'm a lawyer turned writer who emigrated from Chile to the US. During my time in law school and career working for firms and judges in the US, I often felt alienated as the only foreigner in the room. That changed when I chose my career at Thomson Reuters and was welcomed into an organization with a vibrant community of Latino employees and an active Latino Employee Network (LEN).

Living and working so far from my home in Chile, I consider LEN part of my family. The group has offered me opportunities to connect with other Latinos and Hispanics in the US and learn about their traditions, life stories, and passions - especially during #HispanicHeritageMonth. I’m thankful for the friendships and networking opportunities across the company due to my involvement in LEN. If it wasn't for this network, I would have never heard of my current role where I write in Spanish for Abogado.com, a website offering free legal resources for the Hispanic community in the US. There is no other place where I would have such a wide variety of opportunities!" #BeYouAtTR
