Bar Standards Board Chooses FloSuite Legal to Provide New Complaints Management System
LONDON – Thomson Reuters today announced that the Bar Standards Board (BSB), the body responsible for regulating barristers in England and Wales, has selected FloSuite Legal to help improve its system of tracking complaints and disciplinary findings.
The BSB, which regulates more than 15,000 barristers, was seeking to implement a new case management system which would replace its existing custom built system used to track complaints and disciplinary findings about barristers.
The new case management system needed to exceed the functionality provided by the BSB's current system, but place a particular emphasis on providing an enhanced user-friendly experience for the staff and improving overall efficiency. FloSuite legal's case management system, FloCase, was chosen by the BSB at the end of a competitive bidding process.
FloSuite Legal provides the BSB with a case management system that is not only fit for its current requirements, but can evolve to meet entirely new processes likely to be introduced by the regulator in the coming years.
A key factor in the decision to select FloSuite Legal was the solution's flexible architecture, which can be configured to meet several distinct workflows that a complaint to the BSB can pass through; from preliminary assessment through to potential disciplinary action and the associated compliance management. In addition, the solution helps the BSB improve efficiency through the automation of key tasks, such as document assembly, and facilitates intelligent data collection for essential report generation and audit purposes.
"An effective and efficient case management system is vitally important to the work of the Bar Standards Board," said Dr. Vanessa Davies, director, Bar Standards Board. "FloSuite Legal provides us with an accurate and timely system for tracking complaints and monitoring performance, which is a crucial part of our role as an effective and independent regulator of the profession."
"We're extremely pleased to be selected by the Bar Standards Board to work on this important project," said Barry Bostoff, legal software consultant, Thomson Reuters. "FloSuite Legal is a versatile solution capable of meeting the unique needs of the BSB's complaints process, yet flexible enough to adapt to their future workflow requirements."
