Thomson Reuters welcomes OFT clearance of Practical Law Company deal

LONDON and NEW YORK – Thomson Reuters today announced that it has received formal clearance from the Office of Fair Trading (“OFT”) for its completed acquisition of Practical Law Company.

The acquisition brings together the world class legal information and tools of Thomson Reuters with Practical Law Company’s expert authored know-how resources.

Regulatory clearance in the UK means the “hold separate” undertakings entered into by Thomson Reuters with the OFT will now fall away, and the two companies can begin the process of integrating their product portfolios and business operations.

Thomson Reuters announced on January 3 that it had reached a definitive agreement to acquire Practical Law Company. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
