Thomson Reuters Adds New Practice Pages to WestlawNext Practitioner Insights

Exclusive content added for Finance & Banking, Energy & Environment and Products Liability practice areas; National and New York jurisdictions introduced

EAGAN, Minn. – Thomson Reuters announced the addition of three Practitioner Insights pages and two jurisdictional pages for current awareness and related legal developments and analysis on WestlawNext®.

The new practitioner-focused pages featured on WestlawNext include Finance & Banking, Energy & Environment and Products Liability. Earlier this year, Thomson Reuters launched Practitioner Insights and the initial current awareness pages included: Antitrust, Bankruptcy, Employment, Health Law, Intellectual Property and Securities.

According to Jill Roisum, senior director of Product Development for Thomson Reuters, each Practitioner Insights page is maintained by a dedicated team of attorney editors who monitor a specific practice area and curate breaking business news, draw from the most comprehensive collection of litigation materials and primary legal content, and provide exclusive insight and analysis from industry experts like Wolters Kluwer Law & Business and CQ Roll Call to ensure that WestlawNext customers will be the first to know about actionable emerging developments that matter to them and their clients. “These new practice pages deliver a true competitive advantage for WestlawNext users who understand that staying ahead of emerging legal developments is key to superior client service and business development,” said Roisum.

In addition to the new practice area pages, two new jurisdictional pages focused on national coverage and New York will help further manage the flow of current awareness information, allowing legal professionals to receive what they want and need. The New York Practitioner Insights page provides news and analysis, including Court Case and Trial Court Order Summaries from New York, as well as highlighting key legal filings from New York State and Federal courts and relevant current awareness information. The National Practitioner Insights page highlights key national news and includes legal analysis of national importance from topical Practitioner Insights pages.

Acclaimed Reuters legal journalist Alison Frankel also will be featured on the Securities and Finance & Banking Practitioner Insights pages, as well as the new jurisdictional pages.

Thomson Reuters also has introduced enhanced alerting capabilities on WestlawNext. By implementing Alerts on WestlawNext, users can receive and monitor news, dockets, court filings and cases for breaking legal developments and information about clients, competitors, regulators, the courts and the legal marketplace. Customized newsletters also can be created from alerts allowing them to be delivered in a single, organized document.
