Thomson Reuters Delivers Significant Enhancements to eLearning Solutions

New learning management system enhances functionality, user experience and ease-of-use; integration of WeComply courses to provide enhanced North American and Corporate content.

NEW YORK - Thomson Reuters, the world’s leading source of intelligent information for businesses and professionals, today announced further steps to deliver enhanced governance, risk and compliance solutions to organizations globally. The delivery of a new Learning Management System (LMS), Thomson Reuters Compliance Learning and integration of WeComply, a leading provider of compliance e-learning, into its offerings will bring increased scalability, performance, capacity and language support to Thomson Reuters online educational courses.

These enhancements build on a structured 18 months of execution by Thomson Reuters Risk Management Solutions business to continue to provide enhanced e-learning solutions to its customers. Last year the firm acquired UK-based e-learning business, MHA, and Asia-based e-learning business, Knowledge Platform, to build out the content and language capabilities of its eLearning courses. Additionally, its eLearning offerings were expanded to include the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority's (FINRA) Firm Element CE e-learning courses; addition of competition, antitrust, anti corruption and anti-bribery courses as part of a joint initiative with Clifford Chance; the delivery of gamified, mobile and analytics-rich courses following a partnership with True Office. Together with the 42 new courses and 59 refreshed courses Thomson Reuters has developed in this period, these partnerships have added 117 courses in an additional 21 languages to the portfolio.

Learning management systems are a critical component when deploying eLearning courses, as they allow learners to access their courses and administrators to assign courses, manage users and produce records of completion to prove compliance. Accelus Learning Manager (ALM) is a new, flexible web-based learning management system that enables firms to more effectively identify, deploy, track and manage their training needs whilst delivering the right content at the right time to mitigate the risk of compliance breaches.

The solution offers users greater language support with content in over 30 languages, as well as increased security, reporting formats and WebEx capabilities. Additionally, OnePass access allows customers to log on to multiple Thomson Reuters applications and websites with a single username allowing seamless integration across multiple entry points. The solution also offers a full audit trail to easily demonstrate compliance for businesses as well as making it easier for customers to identify full training needs with a more robust and intuitive interface. Accelus Learning Manager supports both Thomson Reuters and third-party courses and can be used as an enterprise-wide solution or to support individual projects or departments.

The integration of WeComply content to Thomson Reuters eLearning solutions has expanded the range of business critical compliance courses available to users, and includes: Code of Conduct, Preventing Discrimination and Harassment, Ethics and Compliance Essentials, Global Anti-Corruption – FCPA, UK Bribery, Antitrust Essentials, Preventing Workplace Violence, Medicare Compliance, HIPAA Privacy and Security, Avoiding Insider Trading, FLSA – Fair Labor Standards Act, and Responsible Social Media Use.

“Compliance training is an essential part of our clients’ workflow, and the delivery of cost-effective, streamlined e-learning that is auditable and actionable, is core to their successful training programs and to managing regulatory and conduct risk within their organizations,” said Mark Schlageter, managing director, Governance, Risk & Compliance, Thomson Reuters. “The launch of the Accelus Learning Manager allows eLearning clients to more efficiently manage and produce records of compliance helping to ease the administrative burden and to ensure high course completion rates. Adding the e-learning expertise from WeComply to our business strengthens Thomson Reuters position in North America and across corporate verticals, adding regional scale and delivering new and innovative learning programs to our extensive e-learning offering for governance, risk and compliance. The enhancements support our ongoing commitment to meet clients’ demanding regulatory and best practice requirements, structuring delivery around the real needs of our customers.”
