Thomson Reuters Earns Perfect Score on Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2015 Corporate Equality Index

The business also ranks among the organization’s 2015 Best Places to Work

EAGAN, Minn. – For the third consecutive year, Thomson Reuters has earned a perfect 100 percent score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) workplace equality.

As a result, Thomson Reuters also is recognized among the 2015 Best Places to Work.

Now in its 13th year, the CEI evaluates U.S. businesses on their LGBT-related policies and practices, including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs and public engagement with the LGBT community.

“As a business, we support the essential mechanisms that power our legal system, businesses and society to promote a more transparent, inclusive, fair and ethical world, and we can only do so when we foster a diverse and inclusive workplace,” said Patsy Doerr, global head of Corporate Responsibility and Inclusion for Thomson Reuters. “To put it plainly, we’re committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace because this aligns with our values, enables us to attract and retain top talent, and drive competitive advantage.

“On behalf of my colleagues at Thomson Reuters, we are honored to be recognized by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, and we are pleased to be in such good company with other firms who are committed to LGBT equality,” she added.

Thomson Reuters ranks among 364 U.S. businesses to be honored with a top score this year, and one of 972 businesses cited in the report. For more information on the 2015 CEI, or to download the report, visit www.hrc.org/cei.
