DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES - Thomson Reuters, the world’s leading source of intelligent information for businesses and professionals, will host the MENA Asset Management Conference, Zawya Fund and the Lipper Awards on June 1, 2014 at the Ritz-Carlton, DIFC, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Nadim Najjar, Managing Director, Middle East, Africa & Russia / CIS, Thomson Reuters, said: “Middle East fund managers remain bullish on most of the region's major equity markets. According to the Reuters Asset Allocation Survey, investment managers of 15 leading investment firms expect to raise their equity allocations to the Middle East over the next three months, while none expected to reduce them.”

Najjar said: “In light of this buoyant market activity, we are hosting this year the second round of the MENA Asset Management conference during which we will be honouring institutions that have achieved excellence in the Middle East and North Africa throughout 2013. The Thomson Reuters MENA Asset Management, Lipper Global Islamic Fund Awards and Zawya Fund Awards 2014 present a platform to all stakeholders interested in the MENA asset management space. “

The MENA Asset Management conference attracts key speakers and panelists within the MENA financial services industry, and tackles important topics in a dynamic platform. Last year, panellists debated several topics including the impact of the Arab spring on funds, market volatility, and the regulatory change affecting the funds industry.

The Zawya Funds Ranking is an independent ranking system that addresses the rising demand for accurate information, unbiased research and analysis, as well as increased transparency in the MENA funds industry through its emphasis on compliance and disclosure.

The Lipper Global Islamic Fund Awards will recognize global Islamic asset managers for 17 categories and is a performance based and objective proprietary methodology developed by Thomson Reuters.
