Thomson Reuters Intelligence Center Enables Interactive Business Development

Graphs, charts, news and analysis improve legal competitive intelligence, reveal industry trends

EAGAN, Minn. – Thomson Reuters, the world's leading source of intelligent information for businesses and professionals, has launched a new business development tool that helps law firms find new business. Thomson Reuters Intelligence Center presents actionable, client-focused information to gain deeper insight into new business opportunities and strengthen current relationships, while staying abreast of industry news and legal activity of current and prospective clients.

Thomson Reuters Intelligence Center, which draws on the expansive resources of Monitor Suite, uses interactive charts and graphs, data, dockets, events, and related news to provide greater understanding of client and industry trends, business opportunities across the United States and which firms are representing organizations.

Intelligence Center provides a simple and easy-to-use solution to gather client-specific content to analyze various activities and compare a firm’s share of business to its competitors’. “Thomson Reuters Intelligence Center gives everyone in the firm the ability to better understand clients and industries,” said Jeff Arvidson, director, New Product Development at Thomson Reuters. “This enables greater awareness of the current marketplace and provides firms, attorneys and business development teams with the insight to maintain their clients, as well as generate new opportunities, while continuing to serve as a trusted business partner.”

As clients demand more from firms, Intelligence Center can help by fostering a deeper understanding of an organization’s litigation history, trending issues that an industry is currently facing and the ability to anticipate potential litigation or legal issues that could impact a current or potential client. Intelligence Center provides views into a company’s litigation activity by jurisdiction over multiple time periods, along with the ability to see the firm’s share of litigation representation for that company. The tool also offers a company comparison chart that can help identify industry trends and provides company-related news through WestlawNext.

Leveraging the design and technology used to build recent Thomson Reuters solutions like Firm Central, the widgets within Intelligence Center are highly interactive, enabling users to view different data points. “Being able to build off  these platforms, we were able to combine the collaboration tools of our client- and matter-centric platforms, along with the analytical power of Monitor Suite, to provide the business development focus that law firms want and need,” added Arvidson.

Monitor Suite has traditionally been a product used by the marketing and business development departments within a law firm, according to Kathleen Miner, senior director, Large Law Firms at Thomson Reuters. “Through Intelligence Center, the robust information from Monitor Suite can now be delivered to firm leaders, attorneys and other users in an easy-to-digest format. Intelligence Center will help law firms keep a client-centric focus and ensure business development is at the forefront of everyone’s mind.”

Thomson Reuters Intelligence Center is the latest product in the Thomson Reuters Client & Market Intelligence suite of offerings that help law firms drive their business development strategy. Client & Market Intelligence products include Monitor Suite, Dockets, Court Wire, and WestlawNext Practitioner Insights, all of which help marketing and business development departments, as well as attorneys, understand where new opportunities exist for the firm and how to capitalize on them.
