Thomson Reuters Utilizes Samsung KNOX to Provide Professionals an Enhanced Mobile Experience

KNOX Enabled App provides added application security for Thomson Reuters Eikon and Convene apps

NEW YORK Thomson Reuters and Samsung announced today that acclaimed Thomson Reuters Eikon and Convene apps are now utilizing Samsung’s KNOX Enabled App, providing a more safe and secure experience to Samsung mobile device users.

KNOX Enabled App offers service providers app-specific secure containers and ensures trusted security for the end users. Private data is isolated from other data on the device and is encrypted to protect against malware and external attacks.

All Thomson Reuters Eikon and Convene users on Samsung devices supported by KNOX 2.4 or above are now able to take full advantage of the KNOX Enabled App experience. Eikon delivers financial professionals a powerful combination of information, analytics and exclusive news on financial markets. Eikon app users also have access to Eikon Messenger, either as part of their Eikon package or free-of-charge as a standalone option. Eikon Messenger is an open, secure and compliance-enabling instant messaging collaboration tool used by over 250,000 financial professionals globally. Convene offers an easy-to-use interface for global conferences, seminars and other events.

“Thomson Reuters provides professionals across industries and borders with trusted information, and this collaboration with Samsung shows our deep commitment to continuously improve access to our products across all platforms,” said Robert Schukai, Head of Applied Innovation, Thomson Reuters. “With Android an important and growing channel for our customers, Eikon and Convene users benefit from a robust security platform that truly matches the quality of our data and content.”

“Security is one of the biggest concerns when it comes to mobile devices, as well as the largest barrier to users adopting an app,” said Young Kim, Vice President, Enterprise Business Team at Samsung Electronics. “Samsung has solved this challenge by offering service providers government-grade security through KNOX Enabled App. It is great to take this next step in our partnership with Thomson Reuters, and I am thrilled to offer their app users a feeling of privacy and protection.”

Thomson Reuters is a member of the Samsung Enterprise Alliance Program. The Thomson Reuters KNOX Enabled Apps will be available for live demos at the Samsung booth in Hall 6 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from February 22 to 25 and are available on Google Play.
