Thomson Reuters Wins 2016 Technology Provider of the Year for Structured Products Asia Awards

Thomson Reuters Receives Accolade Based On Strong Client Testimonials

Hong Kong – Thomson Reuters today announced that it was named Technology Provider of the Year (non-bank) at the Structured Products Asia Awards 2016 for the company’s complex structured products and OTC derivatives pricing and analytics solution.

The Structured Products Asia Awards is a widely respected industry award program, composed of a set of rigorous selection criteria and a full assessment of client testimonials. According to Structured Products editors, feedback from Thomson Reuters’ clients across the region was consistently outstanding, a testament to the strength of the firm’s global reach and quality of service.  The awards are judged by an expert editorial panel on the strength of the pitches and client feedback.

“This award recognizes the intelligence and hard work we have put into developing tools that help our clients navigate through an increasingly challenging environment,” said Wenlin Juang, Head of Pricing & Reference Services Asia at Thomson Reuters.  “We see rapid growth in the structured product market, where the demand from investors for return is driving the creation of more sophisticated complex investment portfolios.  At the same time, regulators are becoming more stringent in terms of compliance in valuations transparency reporting.”

“Asia is a very diverse region with different needs and levels of sophistication in the financial markets.  We continue to see the region as a growth opportunity and remain committed to deliver the products and services that it needs.  An example to showcase our commitment is the partnership with Fubon Financial Holding to build an end to end risk management solution last year,” Juang added.

Thomson Reuters Pricing Service (TRPS) is a global solution that covers over 2.5 million fixed income securities, derivatives and loans, priced daily, including: collateralized loan obligations (CLOs), collateralized debt obligations (CDOs), asset-backed securities (ABS), commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), credit default swaps (CDS), Corporates, US Municipals, structured notes and more. Prices are delivered throughout the day or at market closing times around the world depending on the asset class, with supporting commentary to provide insight on the day's events.
