Improving the Legal Research Experience with Enhancements to Westlaw UK’s Commentary Titles
LONDON, September 11, 2018 – Legal professionals can more effectively conduct all aspects of legal research with the announcement that the leading Thomson Reuters legal research solution, Westlaw UK, now provides enhanced search, navigation, personalization and sharing, as well as other new features for accessing its market-leading legal commentary.
The relaunch of the new commentary solution, which began last year, allows customers to move seamlessly between Westlaw UK’s legal commentary titles and Practical Law’s legal know-how resources. A new interface greatly enhances speed and functionality, allowing users to quickly and intuitively find answers to their most challenging legal issues.
In addition, customers can now access close to 300 Westlaw UK titles, including Archbold Criminal Pleading Evidence and Practice, Chitty on Contracts and the White Book.
The enhanced features and functionality include:
- Enhanced search
Browse and search the full list of titles, or use filters to narrow the search by topic, jurisdiction, publisher, in/out of subscription or titles previously marked as favourites.
- Personalisation
Mark titles as favourites for easy access, highlight text of high importance, and add notes to sections.
- Persistent navigation
A persistent table of contents and document headers help orientate users so that they know where they are in a title at all times.
- Single table of contents
Updated title home pages provide the entire table of contents on a single page for easy navigation.
- Print & share
Add content to folders, as well as print, email or download in Microsoft Word, Rich Text Format or PDF.
- Reading mode
Users can either load sequential documents on a single page or create their own view of a title to display what matters most, creating a more efficient, smoother reading experience.
“We are continually expanding our library of available content, as well as adding advanced features to make it more efficient for our customers to carry out research and stay up to date on the latest developments in legal practice,” said Andrew Buckley, head of Research and Commentary Products at the Legal UK&I business of Thomson Reuters. “Our legal solutions combine legal research, commentary titles and legal know-how information in a single platform where users can quickly and easily find the precise answers they need.
