Thomson Reuters kicks off SYNERGY 2022 across Tax, Legal, and Corporate industries

Annual user conference welcomes customers to meet, learn, and share with peers across industries

WASHINGTON, D.C., November 3, 2022 – Thomson Reuters today announced the return of its largest annual user conference spanning 10 days across the Tax and Accounting, Trade, and Legal industries. Taking place on the banks of the Potomac at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in Washington, D.C., Thomson Reuters is welcoming thousands of customers to hear from influential keynote speakers, participate in interactive learning, collect education credits, and network with their peers.

“Now more than ever, professionals are navigating a multitude of disruptive forces, from shifting global dynamics to increasingly complex regulatory changes,” said Brian Peccarelli, chief operating officer, Thomson Reuters. “We have heard frequently from our customers that they continue to seek innovative solutions to create efficient workflows that enhance their bottom line. We are looking forward to showcasing our products and expertise on how to do exactly that.”

SYNERGY for Tax and Accounting Firms will be kicking off the 10-day SYNERGY season with a virtual option from Nov. 8-11, and an in-person event across Nov. 9-12. Retired Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Deputy Chief James Robnett will keynote the event and share details about his former role in IRS Criminal Investigation, where he oversaw worldwide operations involving criminal tax investigations, money laundering, public corruption, cyber, and ID theft. Participants will also hear about how tax preparers can catch audits before they occur.

SYNERGY for Corporate Legal, Tax and Trade will take place Nov. 13-16 and will convene corporate legal, tax and trade professionals together in person for the first time. The conference will focus on sharing how customers navigate complexities among today’s ever-evolving regulatory landscape, network with other organizations facing similar challenges, and strengthen partnerships for a successful future. This event will feature keynote speaker Jeffrey Ma, one of the leaders of the infamous MIT blackjack team, and the inspiration for the main character in the best-selling book Bringing Down the House and the hit movie, 21. He will be showing companies how to harness the power of numbers to make better bottom-line business decisions.

Closing off the SYNERGY conference season, SYNERGY for Legal Professionals will be held Nov. 16-18 and will be the first in-person SYNERGY conference for legal professionals. Attendees can look forward to gaining the tools and expertise needed to achieve a competitive advantage in the changing legal industry. They will also be able to personally leverage the experts, resources, and insights for long-term planning and day-to-day needs, while networking with industry peers.

Across the three SYNERGY events, participants will be able to view new product demos and provide instantaneous feedback, register for C-suite executive summits, collect CPE/CLE credits, and visit sponsor booths. In addition, Thomson Reuters will be announcing the winners of the coveted annual customer awards for outstanding achievements in Tax and Accounting Firms and Corporate Legal, Tax and Trade.
