Thomson Reuters Unveils Integration for SAP Ariba Central Invoice Management to Streamline Indirect Tax Processes
New connector helps enable real-time tax calculation for streamlined accounts payable processes.
TORONTO, Ontario – December 18, 2025 – Thomson Reuters (TSX/Nasdaq: TRI), a global content and technology company, announces a new integration between its ONESOURCE Indirect Tax Determination solution and SAP Ariba Central Invoice Management (CIM). This collaboration provides businesses with real-time tax calculation capabilities, significantly streamlining invoice processing and ensuring compliance within their accounts payable operations.
SAP Ariba Central Invoice Management helps organizations automate invoice capture, validation, and processing, enhancing compliance and control. As part of its roadmap, SAP is introducing new tax calculation APIs within CIM, allowing customers to validate vendor-charged taxes with external tax engines and providing granular tax-sensitive information to ensure accurate General Ledger posting. Thomson Reuters has worked closely with SAP to develop an integration utilizing these new APIs, ensuring smooth data flow and accurate tax determination directly within the SAP Ariba CIM environment.
"Businesses are increasingly focused on automating their procurement and accounts payable processes to improve efficiency and ensure tax compliance," said Ray Grove, Head of Product, Tax and Trade at Thomson Reuters. "Our new integration for SAP Ariba Central Invoice Management directly addresses this need. By providing real-time, accurate indirect tax determination directly within their invoice processing workflow to validate vendor-charged tax on invoices, we are empowering our customers to reduce manual effort, minimize errors, and confidently meet their tax obligations. This collaboration with SAP ensures our shared customers can leverage best-in-class solutions for their evolving tax and procurement needs."
Many businesses are adopting SAP Ariba Central Invoice Management to streamline their invoice processing and accounts payable processes, aiming to improve efficiency and compliance. This new integration builds upon existing SAP Ariba tax API architecture, enhanced to work specifically with SAP Ariba CIM by leveraging modern Repres entational State Transfer (JavaScript Object Notation) APIs and improved authentication security. It also incorporates an essential component residing on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) to ensure smooth connectivity and optimal performance within the SAP ecosystem. This standard, integrated solution will support existing customers and attract new ones adopting SAP Ariba CIM. Thomson Reuters thus provides an end-to-end indirect tax capability across the Ariba suite of products.
