Tax code to box mapping (accelerated customer content)

When setting up ACC mode, you will:
  • Import the source data into ONESOURCE Indirect Compliance.
  • Identify the unique source tax codes.
  • Apply tax code rules.
  • Set up the box mapping.
This is a one-time process to set up but will need maintenance if there are new source tax codes or new return boxes.
Selecting the
ACC - Tax Code to Box Mapping
option from the
Configuration
menu opens a wizard that extracts your list of ERP tax codes and maps them to a box on a return.

Import the source data

To launch the wizard:
  1. From the menu, select
    Configuration
    , then
    ACC - Tax Code to Box Mapping
    .
  2. Use the
    Allocation Specification
    dropdown to select the ACC allocation specification.
  3. Use the
    Import Specification
    dropdown to select the ACC import specification.
  4. Select
    Browse for File
    or drag the file you want to import into the space provided.
  5. Select
    Next
    to move to screen 2 of the wizard.

Tax code rules

The
ACC - Tax Code Rules
screen is the 2nd screen of the Tax Code to Box Mappings wizard, but you can also open this by selecting
ACC - Tax Code Rules
on the
Configuration
menu.
  1. Use the
    Jurisdiction
    dropdown to select the jurisdiction. This dropdown lists only Accelerated Customer Content templates.
  2. Check the checkbox next to the tax code you want to map.
  3. Double-click in the
    Rule
    column and select the rule you want to apply to the tax code you are defining.
  4. Check the
    Reverse Charge
    and
    Reverse Sign
    boxes if appropriate for this rule.
  5. Select
    Next
    to move to screen 3 of the wizard.

Map tax code to boxes

The next step in the wizard is to complete the mapping from the source tax code to the ‘Lite’ content return boxes.
On the
Tax Code to Box Mapping
screen, there is a line for each unique customer tax code In the left section.
In the main grid, there is a line for each ACC return box where you can set up the tax code mappings and assign the amount type and invoice type.
  1. Select the tax code you want to map in the left section and select
    Map
    on the toolbar.
  2. Check the boxes for the box on the return to which you want to map this tax code. You can map a particular tax code to multiple boxes.
  3. Use the
    Amount Type
    and
    Invoice Type
    dropdowns to select the definitions for this box.
  4. To remove a mapping, select the boxes next to the mappings you want to delete and select the
    Unmap
    icon on the toolbar.
  5. Once you have completed all mappings, select
    Next
    to move to the next screen in the wizard.

Map tax codes to listings

  1. Select the tax code to map.
  2. In the
    Listings
    column, select the three-dot icon Three-dot icon..
  3. A window opens, showing the listings for your jurisdiction. You can use the + and - symbols to expand and collapse the list to show specific listings.
  4. Select the listing to which you want to map the tax code, and then
    OK
    .
