Upgrade SPbinder
An outdated version of SPbinder may not be able to use certain features like Send for Print (printing without leads binder) or Print Page(s). Typically, SPbinder updates automatically if you have
Automatic Updates
option enabled . However, a major release may require you to upgrade SPbinder by manually downloading and installing a new version.note
The last new major release version of SPbinder (that required a fresh install) was released at approximately 3:00 AM Pacific on January 07, 2020.
SPbinder Upgrade window
When printing a binder without leads, you will see the following message if an upgrade is needed:
SPbinder needs to be upgraded. This PC is currently not running the latest version of SPbinder. Update SPbinder to the latest version in order to print a SPbinder PDF.
When printing source document pages from SPbinder, you will see the following message if an upgrade is needed:
SPbinder needs to be upgraded. This PC is currently not running the latest version or SPbinder. Update SPbinder to the latest version in order to print page(s) from SPbinder.
Upgrade SPbinder
To upgrade, you need to download a new copy of SPbinder.
- SelectAccount Admin,Account Setup, thenInstallation & Updates.
- EnableAutomatic updates(recommended).
- SelectSPbinder Installerto download the new SPbinder installer.noteWhen upgrading, you can run the SPbinder installer without uninstalling. The previous version of SPbinder is replaced automatically.
- Run the installation file with Administrative rights. Right-click then selectRun as administrator.Contact your IT professional if you don’t have access to Admin rights on your PC.
- If you are running a shared environment, then see instructions for installing SPbinder on your shared environment.noteRun the file with Administrative rights (Run as administrator) and close SPbinder before you run the installer.
After successfully upgrading SPBinder, you should have SPbinder and novaPDF SDK (version 10 or later) installed in your control panel.
If you don’t have novaPDF SDK (version 10 or later), you'll need to uninstall novaPDF SDK, then run the installation file with Administrative rights. Right-click and select
Run as administrator
.
