Administrative screen

The
Administrative
screen allows your firm to manage its clients and other settings for the whole firm.  You can add clients, prepare letters for your clients, update the firm's clients' questionnaires, create tax return categories, and other administrative tasks. The
Administrative
screen is accessible on the navigation bar, and each page within it can be accessed on the tabs directly below
Administrative
Select Administrative to view the Administrative screen.
The
Administrative
screen includes:
  • Client Management
  • Templates
  • Document Request List
  • Questionnaire
  • Tax Returns
  • Firm Details
  • Admin Settings
Client Management
On the
CLIENT MANAGEMENT
screen, you can view your existing clients, add new clients, send templates, and request documents. Client Invite Status determines when you can send the Invite, Reminder, and other templates. You can also bulk import your clients into TaxCaddy by using the import feature.

Templates
Manage your templates here, including invitations and CPA letters. TaxCaddy comes with Invite and Reminder templates ready to use, but you can use the built-in editor to customize existing templates or create new templates as needed. You can send the Invite template to clients who have not yet been invited to create a TaxCaddy account, and clients who have already been invited but have not yet created an account can be reminded to do so.

Document Request List
TaxCaddy includes a DRL with predefined categories, and you can add additional categories as needed. Predefined categories cannot be edited or removed, but you can select whether or not to display them in your clients' shortlist when a client uploads or moves a document.

Questionnaire
In the
Questionnaire
tab, firm users can customize TaxCaddy's generic questionnaire to meet your firm's specific needs. By default, TaxCaddy will provide a questionnaire template that users can tailor (by adding new questions or deleting unnecessary ones) to gather records that your firm will find useful.

Tax Returns
You can add Tax Return categories that appear in your client's Tax Returns section. Each category allows you to organize sections where your client can add their tax returns.

Firm Details
Your firm's client-facing logo appears on the taxpayer portal and in email notifications to your clients. For best results, upload a logo that is at least 200px (width) x 50px (height). However, you can upload logos with different ratios and sizes (i.e. square, circle).

Your firm name is automatically imported from SurePrep, but you can edit it using the
Firm Name
field shown on the Logo screen. You may want to abbreviate your firm name if it is very long. Changes made to Firm Name are reflected in your templates and in your clients' TaxCaddy accounts.
Admin Settings
Admin Settings allows you to get an API key, set up Stripe, and enable/disable the Offline Clients feature, and enable/disable the ability to pay tax payments by check. Admin Settings is especially useful when you need to integrate with third-party services.
