Overview screen

The
Overview
screen gives you a snapshot of what's happening in your account for the selected tax year, including client activity, unread messages, and a list of clients you follow.

Clients I'm Following

The clients you follow appear on the bottom, with each column indicating a unique client status. You can use the
Search All Clients
tab to add clients to this list. Owners and Assigned Members will automatically see the client in their clients' list.

Each client tile displays a color dot indicating the client type:
  • Standard online client icon Green indicates a standard online client.
  • Offline client icon Gray indicates an Offline Client.
  • Duplicate client icon Red indicates a Duplicate  Client.

To unfollow a client, point to the color dot then select
Unfollow Client
.  
You can use
Views
to sort/filter clients based on categories. Use these buttons to navigate to a different view.

Search

On the 
Search All Clients
tab, you can search for clients by Client Name, Client ID, Binder ID, Owner Name, or Custom Field (if applicable) using the search box.

Export to Excel

You can export the clients listed in the
Overview
screen to an Excel file to review their records without needing to be logged in to TaxCaddy.
Select Export to Excel in Overview.

Client Profiles

Client Profiles are accessible by clicking a client tile on the
Overview
screen, under
Clients I'm Following
. Client profiles provide detailed information about each client, including name, ID, photo, tax phase, the selected tax year, the number of unread messages from the client, number of requested items provided by the client, total number of documents uploaded to the client’s account, and the current status of the questionnaire.

Client Profiles are broken down into 6 tabs: 
  1. Documents
  2. Questionnaire
  3. Messages
  4. Tax Returns
  5. Tax Payments
  6. Invoices
You can select a different tax return profile from the
TAX RETURN
dropdown. The option to select a different profile will only be available if your firm has enabled 1041 tax returns and you have previously created one for this client.

Client Profile Documents

Documents consist of 2 sections:
  1. Requested Items
  2. Uploaded Documents
The client’s
Requested Items
include documents you have requested they sign, review, or upload.

The
Uploaded Documents
tab includes all documents uploaded to the client’s account, including those that were not requested items or are uncategorized.

When viewing a client's
Uploaded Documents
, various icons may appear within the document tile to denote the current status of the document.

Client Profile Questionnaire

The
Questionnaire
screen displays the taxpayer’s questionnaire and the answers they have provided. 
You can see the answers clients answered and what percentage of the questionnaire has been completed. The client can also message you about the questionnaire using the
Messages
panel on the right.

Client Profile Messages

The
Messages
screen contains the message threads between you and the taxpayer. Message threads can be associated with specific documents, each version of the return, or the questionnaire.
A red badge next to
Messages
will show in the navigation bar when a taxpayer has sent a new message that you haven't read yet. If this message exists for a tax year other than the one currently selected, you'll get a notification indicating which tax year the unread message is in.

Client Profile Tax Return

Upload your client’s prepared tax return on the
Tax Returns
screen.

Client Profile Tax Payment

Upload new tax payment vouchers to a client's account through the
Tax Payments
screen. Once uploaded, these payments can be edited, downloaded, or fulfilled on your client's behalf.

Client Profile Invoices

Upload invoices to the
Invoices
tab of your client's account to charge them for your services.
