Missing Info
Provide missing information to send invite
Standard clients with the
Missing Info
status can't be invited to join TaxCaddy because their client record is missing required information in one or more of these fields: Email, 1st Name, Last Name, Owner, Mobile Number.
You can still access a profile in
Missing Info
status to prepare gather requests. However, to send a client an invite, you'll need to add the missing information to update the status to
Not Invited
.
Clients with
Missing Info
status can also be used as Standard(offline) clients. Unlike a typical Offline client account type, these Standard clients can be converted to Standard(online) clients by adding the missing information at any time.
Not Invited
Invite client
Clients who are not current TaxCaddy users, are eligible to be invited (all required fields are valid), but who haven’t been invited, have the status
Not Invited
. These clients are eligible to receive the Invite template and are not existing TaxCaddy users.
Invites will be sent automatically if your firm has enabled Automatic Invites for Dynamic Password.

Clients who you have already invited but who haven’t yet created an account have the status
Not Enrolled
and can be reminded to create an account using the Reminder template. Letter and questionnaires you send will become visible to the client once they accept your connection request.

There are 2 types of clients with Enrolled status:
1. Enrolled with a password
Clients who have created their account and have a Connection Request waiting but haven’t accepted the Connection Request have the status
Enrolled
. These clients need to accept the connection request to proceed. Letters, document request lists, and questionnaires will become visible to the client once they accept your connection request.
2. Enrolled without a password
Clients that were
Not Invited
or
Not Enrolled
will also change to
Enrolled
(without a password) if they were sent deliverables from Reviewer Dashboard.
Clients that were updated to
Enrolled
(without a password) status can log in using a dynamic password. Upon logging in, these clients will update to
Connected
status.
Connected
Letters
Document Request List
Questionnaire
Return
Clients who have accepted your Connection Request have the status
Connected
and you can send letters for review/signature, document requests, questionnaire, and upload returns.
Offline
N/A
Offline Clients can't be invited.
Duplicate
N/A
Duplicate Clients are Offline Clients that have now created a Standard online account. Converting the Offline Client as a Duplicate Client. You can't send an invite to a Duplicated/Offline Client Profile. However, you can locate and send an invite to the Standard (Online) TaxCaddy client.
Connected Elsewhere
Nothing, this client is enrolled with another firm
Clients who are enrolled in TaxCaddy but connected with a different firm have the status
Connected Elsewhere
.
Not Connected
Invite client
Clients who previously created their account and have not been sent a Connection Request from you have the status
Not Connected
. These clients must be invited and accept the connection request to proceed. Letters, document request lists, and questionnaires will become visible to the client once they accept your connection request.
Clients won’t receive email notifications when they are sent requests for letters, questionnaires, and document request lists until their status is
Connected
.
Deleted
Nothing, client has deleted their account.
Clients with the 
Deleted
 status can't be invited to join TaxCaddy because the client has deleted their TaxCaddy account.

Invite status workflow

The following image shows the invite status workflow.
Add a new client:
  • New taxpayer - not used TaxCaddy before - not invited
  • New taxpayer - has a TaxCaddy account - not connected
Send an invite:
  • not enrolled or enrolled
  • If not enrolled, taxpayer creates an account and then accepts the invite.
  • If enrolled, taxpayer logsin and accepts the invite.
Both taxpayers are now connected to TaxCaddy.
