Follow clients

As a tax professional, following clients helps you track client progress by receiving notifications based on the various actions completed by your client. Following a client also adds the client to your
Overview
screen where you can view the full list of clients you are currently following. By default, users assigned as
Owners
are automatically assigned as followers. However, multiple firm users can follow a single client to stay up to date and access client profiles without searching for the client each time.
On the
Overview
screen, you can see the list of Standard (Connected), Offline, and Duplicate clients you follow. By default, clients appear on the
Client's I'm Following
tab if you are the listed Owner or added as an Assigned User of the client.
You can still follow clients on the
Overview
screen without being an Owner or Assigned User. However, if your firm enabled Assigned Team Member restrictions, you can't follow the client or access the client's profile unless you are an Owner or an Assigned User.
Follow these steps to follow or unfollow a client:
  1. Log in to TaxCaddy. If you were already signed in to TaxCaddy, select
    Overview
to go to the Overview screen.
  2. If this is your first time viewing a client profile, select
    SEARCH FOR A CLIENT
    .
  3. Follow or Unfollow the client using the
    Follow/Following
(Unfollow client) button. Followed clients will appear on the
    Clients I'm Following
    tab on the
    Overview
    screen.
Users with access to the
Administrative
screen can view a list of users that are following each client in TaxCaddy and make any updates to a follower list if need be.
You can view who within your firm has access to your client's personal information with the
Followers
feature.
You can also assign multiple users to follow a single client or multiple clients. The
Edit Followers
feature lets you bulk-update followers for as many clients as you may need with as many users as you need.
