Import assets from Excel into a 706 return

Excel template guidelines for 706 Import Utility

Once you've made a copy of the Excel template, consider the following when adding or modifying data before you import into UltraTax CS 706.
  • Don't change the order of the headings in the Excel spreadsheet. UltraTax CS 706 recognizes the order of the headings in the spreadsheet that you create via the template.
  • Don't change the field names in the spreadsheet.
  • If the asset information changes, you'll need to enter changes in the Excel spreadsheet and save the updated spreadsheet before you reimport the data into UltraTax/706.
  • You can insert or delete rows in the spreadsheet. However, you'll need to maintain consistency within the spreadsheet.
  • You can't insert or delete columns in the spreadsheet.
  • You'll need to enter all percentages in the following format: xxx.xx. For example, for Co-tenant: Percentage, you'd enter the percentage as 67.50.
  • The following table summarizes valid entries for contributor items in the spreadsheet titled
