Creating and filtering documents

You can create documents from the
Documents
tab.
My documents
is a repository of all the documents generated by the user. Contract Express allows organising these documents into folders.

All documents
is the list of all documents in the system, available for this user.
Shared documents
is the list of all documents, shared with this user.
Users also can invite Guests or other users to complete a questionnaire and create a document by using the
New Invitation
option, if your license permits it and Forms Based Authentication is used.

Creating documents

Selecting a template
To select a template to generate a document:
  1. Go to
    Documents
    .
  2. Click
    New document
    .
  3. In the opened panel select the required template on one of the tabs:
    1. All
      - all available templates in alphabetical order
    2. Recent
      - recently used templates
    3. By category
      - templates organised by categories (see Working with template categories for more details on categories).
In addition, you can search for the required template.

Selecting a template will launch the questionnaire.

Completing Questionnaire

The Questionnaire screen consists of several sections:
  • List of pages with a progress bar, which fills as the user completes the questionnaire.
  • Questions area, presented in a single-column format.
  • Action panel with navigation options.

When completing the Questionnaire, use the navigation arrows at the top of the screen to move between pages. Select “
Next
” to proceed or “
Previous
” to return. You can also choose “
Save & close
” to save your progress and generate a document with your current answers.
You can revisit the Questionnaire by clicking
Edit Questionnaire
from the document details page.

Previewing a document

Contract Express gives users the ability to view the Word document underneath the Questionnaire and see the answers given in the Questionnaire updating the document in real time. The availability of the
Preview
toggle button is dependent on a suitable screen resolution being available to use the functionality (see
Questionnaire views
below).

You can enable preview in the profile (see Managing profiles) and apply the profile to a template using categories (see Working with template categories).
If more than one document is being created through one Questionnaire the user can view each document individually in preview mode by selecting the tabs found at the top of the preview page.

Questionnaire views

The view of the questionnaire alters depending upon the device the user is viewing the site on. The questionnaire alters dynamically to accommodate the variations of screen size and device the user may view the questionnaire in.
Desktop/laptop view:
This offers the full range of functionality available in Contract Express. The navigation pane is set to the left of the main body of the questionnaire with the additional options such as Preview, and up and downloading answers contained in the tab along the top.

Tablet view:
The navigation pane when viewed on a tablet is placed above the main body of the questionnaire and can be selected as a dropdown by the user.

Preview is available in this view. The navigation pane will remain at the top of the questionnaire if activated.
The Options to upload and download answers are not available during the questionnaire session in this view but users are able to download the answer file upon completion of the questionnaire.
