Creating matters

To create a new matter:
  1. Go to the
    Matters
     tab and click
    New matter
    .
  2. Complete the questionnaire. See General information about Matter template for more details about the Matter template.
  3. Click
    Save and Close
    .
As a result, you will see the matter details page.

Creating matters from documents

There may be cases where a standalone document (i.e. document that is not part of a matter) is created and at a later point that document is required to be a part of a matter.
To convert an existing document into a matter:
  1. Select the required document.
  2. Select Convert to matter option on the document details page.
  3. Complete the questionnaire to create a matter.
As a result, Contract Express will create a new matter and attach the selected document as a work item. The template used to create the original document will be available in the
Workflow steps
 section.
