No response when editing a document: Validate the GoFileRoom add-in is installed
If nothing happens when you try to open or edit a workpaper from GoFileRoom or Engagement Manager, validate that the
GoFileRoom Add-In
is installed on your workstation.
Scenario
When you try to open or edit a workpaper from GoFileRoom or Engagement Manager, nothing happens. Depending on your browser, you may experience 1 of the following:
Chrome or Edge shows a prompt to find an application that can open the link.
Chrome or Edge fails silently with no visible message.
Cause
The
GoFileRoom Add-In
is required to open workpapers from GoFileRoom or Engagement Manager. Without it, Windows can't recognize the
gfraddinlinkapp
protocol used to open documents, and workpapers may not open when selected from the browser.
Solution
Verify that the GoFileRoom add-in is installed on your workstation:
Open
Windows Settings
or
Control Panel
.
Go to the list of installed applications or programs.
Search for
GoFileRoom Add-In
in the list.
If the
GoFileRoom Add-In
isn't listed, install it before continuing. For instructions, refer to Install GoFileRoom Add-In, then continue to step 5.
If the
GoFileRoom Add-In
is already installed, uninstall it, then reinstall the latest version. Reinstalling ensures all required components are properly registered.
Close and reopen your browser.
Sign in to GoFileRoom or Engagement Manager, then try opening the workpaper again.
If the issue continues, restart your workstation and try again.
If the issue persists after reinstalling the add-in:
Uninstall the existing
GoFileRoom Add-In
.
Reinstall the latest version of the add-in.
Restart your workstation if prompted.
Try opening the workpaper again from GoFileRoom or Engagement Manager.
