Direct K-1 Export

Use the Direct K-1 Export to extract return data from a 1065 locator into a PX3 file, which is delivered in a downloadable ZIP file and can be used as the basis for a future import.
Before performing a Direct K-1 export, make sure that your sign in ID for RS Browser doesn’t contain any spaces.
  1. In the RS Browser, select the
    Returns Processing
    tab.
  2. Select
    Import/Export
    to open the menu item.
  3. Select
    Export
to open the Direct K-1 Export screen.
  4. Select
    Direct K-1
from the dropdown. Make sure you have the correct
    Account
for your locator (XXXX), the correct
    Year
    (2023), and the
    1065
    Tax Type. Select
    Continue
    .
  5. Mark the checkbox for the return you want to export. Then select
    Continue
    .
  6. Verify the information about the export file, and select
    Close
    .
  7. Return to the Direct K-1 Export screen and select
    Batch Status
    .
  8. Enter a date, or range of dates if needed, under Date Batch Submitted. Select
    Continue
    .
  9. Select the
    Batch ID
    .
  10. If the Export Status column shows
    Queued for Export
    , select
    Refresh
    until the Export Status shows
    File Export Complete
    .
  11. Select
    Download All
    .
    note
A password field in the export batch details indicates a password is required. Password-protected returns aren't included in the
    Download All
button. To download a password-protected return when the Print File Ready status is displayed, enter the password and select the return.
  12. A popup screen appears at the bottom of the screen. Select the arrow for the
    Save
    button and choose
    Save
    ,
    Save As
    (recommended), or
    Save and Open
    .
  13. Open or view the downloaded ZIP file.
The ZIP file contains the exported PX3 file. Exported files default to the R (Return Level Replacement) flag. If you plan to use the exported file as the basis for a future import, it's generally recommended to change the replacement flag in the header record to M before importing.
