Spending to Budget Report

To run the Spending to Budget report:
  1. Click
    Reports > Report List
    in the left navigation
  2. Click
    Spending to Budget
    under
    Budget/Accruals Reports
    .
  3. Specify the report criteria.
  4. Click
    Run
    in the toolbar.

After you run the report, the
REPORT CRITERIA
collapsible section is minimized to allow you to view your report results. To change any of the reporting criteria and generate a new report, click the heading of the
REPORT CRITERIA
collapsible section to expand it.

Report Details and Specifications

The following table includes details and specifications regarding the Spending to Budget report:

Comments
Matter Names
All matters entered by Company users for which a budget was provided
Does not include matters where:
  • The lead outside attorney has not completed the matter profile.
  • A budget has not been provided for the matter.
Actual Spending
Invoices submitted by law firms
Includes:
  • The amount of approved and unapproved invoices (as adjusted) and the total.
  • The amount of tax (as adjusted) submitted in any invoices.
If more than one firm is working on the same matter, the actual spending amount for all firms is shown only for the lead firm in the matter.
Budget
Budget information entered by law firm
Includes the full budget for the month of the start date through the end date of the report (for example, if the report dates are 11/15/2019 through 12/15/2019, the budget will include the cumulative budget for the months of November and December of 2019.
If more than one firm is working on the same matter, the actual budget amount is shown only for the lead firm in the matter.
Actual/Budget%
Invoices submitted by law firms and budget information entered by law firm
This amount is the ratio of the actual spending divided by the budget.
Last Invoice Billing Period End Date
Invoices submitted by law firms
This field includes the billing end date from the invoice with the most recent billing period.

Export Report Results to a .csv file

You can export the report results to a .csv file, which you can then view and manipulate in a spreadsheet program, such as Microsoft Excel.
To export the data:
  1. From the report results, click the three small dots icon on the toolbar then select
    Export
    .
  2. If necessary, select the check boxes for the information to include in the header and footer.
  3. Select
    CSV format
    as the type of formatted file you want to export the report to. The Save As window displays so you can save the file.
