Convert charts of accounts

Export charts of accounts from GLM Classic as a CSV file, then import and map the data to your system accounts.

Export the data

  1. In General Ledger Manager Classic, go to
    Setup
    , then
    Chart of Accounts
    .
  2. Select the option to
    Export
     the data. The export process generates an
    .xlsx
     file containing 2 columns:
    • AccountCode
    • Description
  3. Open the exported
    .xlsx
     file in a spreadsheet such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  4. Review the data to ensure it has been exported correctly.
  5. Save the file in CSV format, then select
    Save
    .

Import the data

  1. Go to
    Administration
    ,
    Company Info
    , then
    Accounts
    .
  2. Open the
    Summary Chart of Accounts
     tab.
  3. Select
    Add Chart
    .
  4. Select the Chart of Account you want to import, then select
    Import
    .
  5. Use the wizard to upload your CSV file.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with the upload.
  7. When prompted to map fields, assign:
    • Map
      Number
       from your CSV file to the
      Account Code
       in the system.
    • Map the
      Description
       from your CSV file to the
      Account Name
       in the system.
  8. Set
    Start Row
     to 2 to skip the header row during the import process.
  9. Follow the remaining steps in the wizard to complete the import process.
  10. Review the imported data to ensure accuracy.
