DPS Settings: Escalation Group Configuration

If you are unsure whether you should do business with a blocked entity, the DPS escalation path makes it possible to escalate the block to the next escalation group level for further review.
The escalation process is defined in the
Escalating a Blocked Party in DPS Management
section of the user guide.
Escalation options are available under the
Escalation
tab on the
DPS Settings
screen.
Adding an Escalation Group
To add an escalation group:
  1. Click
    Add Group
    to add a new line to the grid.
  2. Click the
    Security Group Name
    drop-down menu.
  3. Click an authority group.
  4. Click the
    Group Name
    field.
  5. Enter a group name. Group names can be customized, but the
    Group Name
    value is default to the selected
    Security Group Name
    if left blank.
  6. Click the
    Notification
    drop-down menu.
  7. Click the appropriate e-mail protocol preference. The
    Notification
    drop-down menu contains the following options:
Notification Options
Description
Always send e-mail on escalation
When an escalation occurs, all users in this group receive an escalation e-mail if the group is permitted to take action (that is, the escalation level is less than or equal to the group level).
Send e-mail when escalated to my group
If you selects to escalate specifically to this user group, the group receives an e-mail when an escalation occurs.
Send e-mail when escalated to my level
When an escalation occurs, the escalation group receives an e-mail.
Never send e-mail
When an escalation occurs, no users receive an escalation notification e-mail.
Click the
Escalation
drop-down menu and select an escalation level. After the highest-level escalation is reached, you can no longer escalate a record.
Escalation Levels
Description
1 (Lowest Level)
Members of this escalation group can take action after a search has been escalated once.
2 (Middle Level)
Members of this escalation group can take action after a search has been escalated twice.
3 (Highest Level)
Members of this escalation group can take action after a search has been escalated three times.
To add an escalation group, click
Insert
.
To disregard all changes, click
Cancel
.
If you click
Insert
, the escalation group will display under the
Escalation
tab.
To remove an escalation group, click
Delete
.
To make changes to an existing escalation group, click
Edit
.
