Entry Data Override

Since the
Entry Data Override
 screen is an optional screen, some versions of ONESOURCE Entry Verification may not include it. This will depend on how the system was configured during implementation.
At times, a Validation Type error on the entry could be caused by a simple typo, such as:
  • The broker entered or forgot a “-” on the entry number.
  • The broker forgot a space on the entry number.
  • A leading zero on a product number was omitted when it was first entered.
Although all of the issues listed above are technically discrepancies and will result in a Validation Type error, they are so minor that no corrective action or amended entry is required.
The
Entry Data Override
 screen allows the user to manually override product numbers and reduce the overall number of Validation Type discrepancies within the ONESOURCE Entry Verification system. This way, the product numbers on the entry match the data within the ONESOURCE Global Classification module.
A pop-up version of
Entry Data Override
 is also available through the
Entry Validation
 screen. This feature is typically used when the Customs Broker cannot change how a product number was entered.
To open the
Entry Data Override
 screen from the
Entry Validation
 screen, click the
Override Management
 link at the top of the screen.
Converting (or overriding) product numbers allows for the automatic comparison of product numbers against entry product numbers received in the entry from the Customs Broker. More importantly, the
Entry Data Override
 screen allows the user to correct internal discrepancies that are not caused by broker error. This allows the user to reduce the number of validation errors displayed within the
Entry Verification
 screen.
