Entry Verification Overview
The ONESOURCE Entry Verification solution is designed to support a closed-loop entry review process. It addresses the challenges of auditing entries on a consistent basis.
When communications between an importer and broker break down, the information stored in the broker’s brokerage system may not match the information stored in your system, thereby creating a discrepancy between the two systems.
Discrepancies between importer and Customs Broker data typically consist of:
- Inconsistent/Incorrect Product Descriptions
- Inconsistent/Incorrect HS Numbers
- Inconsistent/Incorrect Countries of Origin
- Inconsistent/Incorrect Manufacturer IDs
- Inconsistent/Incorrect flagging for applicable Free Trade Agreements (FTAs)
ONESOURCE Entry Verification compares entry data against other applicable data residing in ONESOURCE, such as:
- Classification data stored in ONESOURCE Global Classification
- Quantity and valuation in either a Purchase Order or Commercial Invoice
If ONESOURCE Global Classification is deployed as part of an integrated solution, it is possible to send parts data files nightly to a Customs Broker as part of the pre-entry process. By adding this step to the "closed loop" process, you gain an increased level of confidence in knowing the Customs Broker consistently uses the most up-to-date classification data during the entry process.
There are no limitations for data sources within the system. For example, comparison between entry data and data residing within ONESOURCE could include only Global Classification or additional external data sources such as:
- Purchase Orders
- Commercial Invoices
- Proof of Material Receipt
- Accounts Payable
- Importer Security Filings (ISF/10+2)
- Free Trade Agreements (FTAs)
- Other shipment documents
